Protest Apple London - Secret War in the CONGO. Conflict Minerals

These demonstrators were protesting opposite Apple's flagship London store on Regent Street. The protest was in response to Apples lack of social responsibility in the African countries where the raw minerals and materials used in their products originate from. Countries like the Democratic Republic of Congo have become rife with corruption, more so since huge corporations have been active in their country. Why? Conflict minerals! Men like Dan Gertler are making themselves and corrupt people like The President of the Congo (who is Gertlers good friend) very very rich, whilst millions suffer the consequences of that imbalance.....The Congo, specifically is more commonly being referred to as "The rape capital of the world"??? What these protesters want is fairness, for these corporations to invest back into those communities where their precious resources are being mined. The question many Congolese ask themselves is, is it possible to make these products with out the minerals mined in the Congo? This is happening more and more in Africa, with AFRICOM troops securing the way for these corporations, in sometimes extremely volatile countries. There is a bigger picture here, this protest is just a small part of that.
