President Trump took to Twitter on Thursday to falsely accuse Democrats of inflating the death toll in Puerto Rico from Hurricane Maria to hurt him politically. Both Democrats and Republicans called out the comments for being insensitive. An independent study from George Washington University, commissioned by the Puerto Rican government, found nearly 3,000 people lost their lives.
