Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Dhaka on his two-day visit, his maiden state visit to Bangladesh. He was accorded with a warm welcome on Dhaka airport with his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina extending unprecedented gesture by visiting the airport to personally receive him. Modi was also given a guard of honour at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport during what was described by the Bangladeshi media as ‘historic visit of high hopes’.
