Poultry slaughterhouse opened in Kakamega.

This is expected to boost poultry production in the region famous for chicken farming.The slaughter house already built will be equipped through the Kenya agriculture productivity agri-based project (kapp) at a cost of one million shillings. The slaughterhouse is the third in the country, with two more in Nakuru and Kitale respectively will be launched in a month's time, and expected to promote a more hygienic processing of chicken meat for commercial sale in the region
