In the previous lessons, we have been focused on capturing lines from observation. Line is an important and basic drawing language. It is one of the drawing vocabularies. In this drawing lesson, I will talk about the next drawing vocabulary - shape. Shapes is a way an artist visually group elements together. Starting from big groups (we sometimes call masses) then to smaller groups within the big groups.
Katie is a wonderful artist and educator. When I saw this photo I asked her if I could get the original photo and do drawing and painting for lessons. Thanks, Katie.
