These saws were dead even when I last timed them. Since then I added a little more intake duration to the Makita (timing from 71 degrees to 75 degrees) and matched the transfers to the case. The Makita now has pulled ahead slightly. The Makita is rated stock at 3.2 Hp and the Domlar at 3.9Hp, so there have been some nice gains. Both saws weigh within 1/2 lb of each other, but the Makita start and idles better. No muffler mods have been done to the Makita at this point, but I am running the muffler from an older 115 which has a different outlet with no spark arrestor screen.
