23-year-old adult film actress August Ames was found dead on Tuesday morning following an online blowup over an arguably homophobic tweet. According to The Blast, she died of asphyxiation by hanging. Ames had criticized women who worked with male actors who also did gay porn, tweeting, “Do agents really not care about who they’re representing?” August Ames, famous for movies like “Beauty and the Beast XXX: An Erotic Fairy Tale Parody” and “Baby Got Boobs,” has died, and friends of the actress believe she took her own life. The Ventura County Medical Examiner confirms Ames passed away Tuesday in Ventura County at the age of 23. Her cause of death is currently unknown, and her husband said “She was the kindest person I ever knew and she meant the world to me.” Law enforcement sources tell us Ames was found early Tuesday morning in Camarillo. She was pronounced dead at the scene, and we’re told there is no indication of foul play or any other crime occurring. We’re told toxicology tests are also being conducted while the death is investigated. However, close friends of Ames tell us she had suffered from longterm depression, and believe a recent incident with online harassment may have contributed to her death. On December 3, Ames tweeted that she was refusing to shoot a sex scene with an actor who had done gay porn. She claimed that the medical testing was different for straight vs gay sex scenes, and did not want to participate. Because of her statements, she experienced a huge backlash online, with many fans and performers labeling her a “homophobe.”
