Playful Dholes

The Dhole or commonly known as Indian Wild Dog are highly social close-knit packs with dominance hierarchies within the pack. A Dhole pack hunt is a display of an impeccable strategy in place with excellent coordination. They communicate with each other by whistling for which they've earned the name 'whistling hunter'. Depletion of Prey base, habitat loss, disease transmission from domestic dogs are some of the threats faced by the Dhole due to which they are considered 'endangered' as per IUCN. During our photo-tour at Tadoba in Maharashtra, we came across a group of four really curious and playful Dholes. Out of which two of them put up quite a display of frisky affection for our members who photographed them in the best way possible! While their shutters were on a roll, I decided to capture the entire sequence which I hope you enjoy watching.. as much as we did :)
