"Wish You Were Here" is the fourth track on the studio album Wish You Were Here, the British band Pink Floyd. His letter is how much of the album, directed to Syd Barrett, however it can be interpreted as an outburst of a person who misses another. The riff that originated the music was created by David Gilmour during a session at Abbey Road Studios. Roger Waters wrote the lyrics and also worked in music composition, alongside Gilmour. "Wish You Were Here" was included in the compilation Echoes: The Best of Pink Floyd 2001.
