Prairie dog hunting is a legal and humane way of controlling the population of these destructive and mass reproducing varmints.
Prairie dog hunting is necessary, beneficial, and greatly appreciated by the ranchers and landowners.
Prairie dogs are extremely destructive to the land and crops, their holes are hazards to livestock and humans, and over population leads to plague and diseases which can spread to other animals.
These harvested animals are not wasted. They become food for other animals and birds such as coyotes, fox, badgers, hawks, eagles, vultures, etc.
