PANCHALIMEDU is a beautiful hill station and a famous tourist attraction near Kuttikkanam in Idukki . It has a close linkage to one of the Indian epics the Mahabharata. It is believed that Pandavas alongwith their wife Panchali lived here during their exile period. This is the place where several devotees of Sabarimala Sree Dharma Shastha (popularly known as Swamy Ayyappan) assemble inorder to see the Holi Makara Vilakku at Ponnambalamedu, Sabarimala.
