P0336 code Mazda RX8 2004

After lots of starting problems since May, I finally got a code. Stored and pending, p0336 crankshaft position sensor range performance. Starter was replaced in April. RX8Club states that a new starter solved the issue or a loose bolt on the starter caused it. Resetting the camshaft profile memory only helped once and cleaning the sensor and pulley did little. Will replace started with old, check connection, clean and test the sensor.
