Overwatch: Why USA Lost to Korea - World Cup Pro Analysis

The Overwatch World Cup 2017 featured one of the most intense spectator matchups in Overwatch esports history, South Korea versus the United States of America. Many thought the match would be a bit of a blowout [myself included], despite the meta advantages USA was foreseen to be able to exploit. Emotionally, USA put up a incredible fight on the first three maps, winning the first, but allowing advantages to slip from their fingers on the next two and falling apart altogether on the last two. Despite the map score being 3-1-1 (posted as 4-2 due to the tie) USA played Korea close. The games were explosive and a joy to watch and yields confidence that these western players will compete in OWL, if these complex macro game plays start going their way.
