Kerala-style Fish Curry:
Ingredients:-
1. Any kind of fish (I've used salmon here)
2. Kashmiri powder
3. Turmeric powder
4. Crushed garlic&ginger
5. Salt
6. kudumpulli (fish tamarind or malabar tamarind)
7. Curry leaves
8. Water
After the fish curry is ready, ingredients to use:
9. Coconut oil
10. Mustard seeds.
11. Uluva seeds(fenugreek seeds)
12. Curry leaves
13. Lots of cheriya ulli (shallots)
Method:
1. After cleaning the fish well, add the fish slices first to the meen (fish) chatti.
2. Then on to that add the ingredients from #2-7
3. Add water in the end just enough to cover the fish and the masalas.
4. Close the chatti with a lid and place it on the stove at a medium flame for about 20 mins or till it boils and then lower to medium-low heat for another 15 mins or till the fish is cooked well.
5. Once ready, switch off the flame.
6. For the final touch, in a small pan, heat some coconut oil around 1tbsp, then add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, then shallots.
7. Once the shallots are almost brown, add the rest of the curry leaves and stir for another min.
8. Switch off the flame and pour this in to the fish curry, and just swirl it around to avoid breaking the fish pieces.
YOUR FISH CURRY IS NOW READY TO SERVE WITH RICE OR CHAPATI OR KAPPA(TAPIOCA) :)
Bon Appetit :)
