To be honest, when I listened to the crossfades for this album, I was a bit let down after the excellent 日常コンピ from on sunday recordings that I've shared a few tracks from. Once I'd listened to it though, I was hooked and I kept listening to the majority of the album over and over again. I plan to share another track from this album with you guys, but there's so many good tracks that I might revisit this album again later.
Right off the bat, this track feels like stepping into a dream. The slow, almost foreboding start gives way to what will be the driving rhythm for the rest of the track. It's an interesting style that I haven't heard too often, and it's kind of hard to pinpoint what kind of impression I have of it. It's a different sort of relaxation than most of the ambient songs I've shared. The rhythm gets layered on as the track progresses, and the tremulous chime that slowly builds until about two minutes in really comes together with the rhythm to create the faintest of melodies. I was glad I stumbled onto this picture pretty quickly, because I think it's a good match for what I see in my mind's eye; like something just on the edge of reality.
