This is recorder is confirmed to have been one of the many used at Edison's recording laboratory by engineers Walter Miller, Fred C Burt, and George Werner, and Thomas A Edison. To my knowledge this is the first original Edison factory recorder to be used to record with since 1929. The only other working one is a replica, in New York. This is also what daily experimenting is like at Borri Audio Laboratories. This is a dubbing test of a new recording diaphragm. We see together how the test came out, (the first half of the cylinder failed, as the computer lagged.) The audio, however is very good. The diaphragm is made of a proprietary material and cone shaped, not flat or stepped. The sound is very similar to an Edison direct acoustic recording, of the late 1920s. I am very happy with the results. Recorded on Borri Audio Laboratories blanks.
