Learn how to organize and group your MacOS X doc icons so that you can add a separator between them. This video is aimed specifically at MacOS Mojave, but should also work in High Sierra, Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, Mavericks, Mountain Lion, Lion, Snow Leopard, Tiger and other big cats.
DISCLAIMER: You are 100% responsible for your computer. Use caution when making any setting changes to your Mac's computer operating system. If you screw something up, you are on your own.
Here's the code to copy (as discussed in video):
defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-others -array-add '{tile-data={}; tile-type="spacer-tile";}'
Make sure there are no line breaks in the code above. Copy the section of code above exactly as written and paste into the Mac terminal window as shown in the tutorial.
To force the doc refresh afterwards, use this following command:
killall Dock
Remember that you need to capitalize the letter 'D' when typing that command.
Hope this helps you customize your mac dock icon organization and makes your groups of apps easier to distinguish!
