This video shows Operation Migration filling the role of surrogate parents for whooping cranes hatched in captivity, in an incubator. Using delta wing flying trikes they lead the young cranes on their migration route to their winter home in Florida. Of course first they have to train the cranes to follow the trikes. I was the 1st journalist to fly with the whooping cranes and it's quite a thrill to watch these big birds following off your wingtip.
