On 2/10/14 Guinness Book of World Records has accepted to validate my 1,500 yard open-sight shots. I will repeat this shot of 1,760 yards (One-mile) on a 24-inch target in June 2014. Guinness has agreed to have it validated. :-) The prior long range shooting record for open-sights was only 1,124 yards, 2 consecutive hits, on a 16-inch target. November 30th, 2013, I was invited to shoot with the "Long Range Shooters of Utah" Shooting Club. They arraigned a one-mile (1,760 yards, or 1,609 Meters) 24x24 inch target for me to shoot with my Swiss K-31 rifles. Both of my rifles used in this video (1950 & 1952) are 100% original and unmodified. All shots were taken were using the standard issued iron-sights. Additionally, the ammunition I was using was standard Swiss Military issued GP11 ammunition. I wish to thank the Long Range Shooters of Utah for this opportunity, although I would like to try it again with my handloaded ammunition.
