On this day: Mike Tyson was disqualified for biting Holyfield's ear in 1997

A WBA Heavyweight Championship match between Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield was held on June 28, 1997. In the third round of the match, Tyson bit the right ear of Holyfield. The referee Mills Lane warned Tyson and deducted two points from him but in the final 10 seconds of the third round, Tyson bit Holyfield on the left ear this time. Mills Lane disqualified Mike Tyson.
