A visitor explores the old town of Valdez, Alaska, and examines the devastation caused by the 1964 Good Friday earthquake. Structures include the Pioneer Hall, the Pacific Whaling Company building, the old cable office, Hotel Valdez, houses, boats, Valdez Sheet Metal Works, Gilson's, and the church. The city was moved to its new and current location, four miles down the road, following the earthquake.(Color/Silent/16mm film). This sequence contains excerpts from AAF-16372 from the John Baker collection held by the Alaska Film Archives, a unit of the Alaska and Polar Regions Collections & Archives Department in the Elmer E.
