This is the official music video for Gaelynn Lea's newest single, "The Long Way Around." It was filmed by Dave Mehling in Duluth, Minnesota and was released on October 4, 2019. Luscious violin loops, sparse but sparkling guitars and heartwrenching lyrics make Gaelynn Lea's newest single "The Long Way Around" a melancholy delight. This song and its companion music video were inspired by the relationships that take work but are worth it in the end. Musical guests include the likes of Alan Sparhawk (LOW), Charlie Parr, and several other talented Minnesota artists. This track was mixed by Portland's much-loved producer and engineer Tucker Martine at Flora Recording & Playback and mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Robert Hadley of Hadley Mastering in Los Angeles, CA. Gaelynn Lea is a musician, public speaker, and disability rights advocate. In 2016 she won NPR Music's Tiny Desk Contest, and has she been touring nationally and internationally ever since. She has released 3 full-length albums to date. In addition to recording, speaking and performing, Gaelynn loves to write. She is currently working on a memoir about her touring adventures & disability advocacy that she plans to release in 2022. So far the singer-songwriter and violinist has appeared in 43 states and 7 countries - she's graced the stage of renowned venues like Nashville’s Music City Roots, The Kennedy Center, House of Blues and even BBC World News. “The way her voice resonates is so unusual and beautiful, like nothing I’ve ever heard before.” (Jess Wolfe, Lucius) In addition to performing and recording, Gaelynn also does speaking engagements about disability rights, finding inner freedom, and accessibility in the arts.
