Big Thank You to BeamsWork for sending me the Odyssea UV Sterilizer 18w This is a very well built product that has been designed for a specific purpose and that is to control algae blooms. The common type of algae bloom is green water. This makes your tank look unsightly and no matter how many water changes you do it always seems to come back with a vengeance. The main sufferers of green water are those to keep their tanks by a window and the tank gets lots of direct sunlight. Inside the UV Sterilizer is a solid quartz tube in which the UV bulb sits, surrounding the quarts tube is a spiral channel which the water flows round extending the amount of time that the water is in contact with the UV rays.
