Randy Newberg, Hunter is with Nosler, learning the important steps of reloading your own ammunition. Randy has selecting a bullet for use in elk hunting with his .308 Win. Options considered are the AccuBond, Partition, and E-Tip. Elk require a sturdy bullet, with all three of these allowing controlled expansion, weight retention, and great penetration. Additionally, Randy has selected a temperature insensitive powder that will be the least affected by temperature conditions encountered while hunting. In this case, the powder used is Varget. Seating depth is the final variable that will determine the performance and results of the cartridge you build. Seating depth will vary pressures and distance, or jump, from when the bullet leaves the case to when it reaches the lands of the barrel. With all these decisions made, prepped brass will be used. Nosler brass comes weight-sorted, prepped, trimmed, and made to exact consistencies. Next in line is the decision on primers. Primers come in a few different sizes, depending upon the cartridge you are loading for. Mostly, one you pick a primer, stick with it, as they all have slightly different variations that will change your consistency if you mix and match. With brass, powder, bullets, and primers selected, now comes the precise work of measuring your powder to exact grains. This cannot be overlooked. Inconsistency here will cause inaccuracy at the range. With the brass primed, the final step is seating the bullet to the proper depth. That is shown in this video. http://nosler.com/ ** Subscribe to Randy Newberg, Hunter https://goo.gl/4TZOiJ Download episodes: http://randynewberg.vhx.tv/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/randynewberg Forum: https://www.HuntTalk.com Website: http://www.RandyNewberg.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/randynewberg
