NORD's 35th Anniversary Celebration presenting the Rare Impact Awards

NORD’s 35th Anniversary Celebration presenting the 2018 Rare Impact Awards was held on May 17, 2018, in Washington, D.C. at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium. This event celebrated the efforts to help the 30 million Americans with rare diseases who, by the very nature of their diagnoses, may be overlooked by traditional medicine, research and healthcare policies. The 2018 event was a special one to not only celebrate the progress gained in the last year but also the progress gained in the past 35 years as NORD celebrated its 35th anniversary and the anniversary of the Orphan Drug Act, a monumental piece of legislation in rare disease.
