The preamp performance of audio interfaces is often stated with the equivalent input noise. This value describes how much noise is produced when the interface is used with a dynamic microphone. But how do these numbers translate into the real world and how much noise can you really expect? In this video I record some audio with 9 different interfaces in combination with a Shure SM7B and SM57. This will should give you a good indication of how these interfaces compare to each other in terms of preamp noise performance.
