It was the Espansiva Symphony that first gained Nielsen recognition outside his home country, whilst Finlandia - even today one of the key national songs of Finland - and the sparkling and technically demanding Violin Concerto continue to stand amongst Sibelius' most significant compositions. Recorded live at the Esplanade Concert Hall, 31 July 2015. For more information about the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, visit http://sso.org.sg.
