Also Algeria is accused of abandoning more than 13,000 african migrants in the Sahara desert over the past 14 months. And in Northern Cameroon poverty is forcing more and more women up mountains to mine rocks in dangerous conditions. Nigeria warns communities around Jos against lashing out in revenge after at least 58 people were killed in attacks by Fulani herders in plateau state. Police claim that there were least 86 victims of the latest violence but witnesses say there were many more. Algeria is coming under fire from human rights groups for its treatment of migrants. It has allegedly abandoned more than 13,000 Africans in the Sahara desert over the past 14 months. Many are forced into the wilderness, without food or water, after being expelled by Algiers.. And in northern Cameroon poverty and instability caused by attacks by extremists have left women looking for ways to make an income with few choices.
