As part of the NHS Change Day initiative, Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust was delighted to host the regional event organised by NHS East Midlands Leads.
The theme for the event was 'Patient centred care - Compassion in Practice'.
Stalls and displays from other NHS Trusts and organisations were on display in our Relax@theRoyal staff facility and during the day we managed to make a live link with the National event being held in Manchester. Chief Executive Gavin Boyle took his opportunity to make his pledge along with Nicky Hill, Director for Organisational Development at Chesterfield Royal.
The Choices Team from Chesterfield Royal also looked after the stand in the main entrance inviting staff and visitors to make their pledges, they were joined by colleagues from Ashgate Hospice, with whom this Trust has very strong links in relation to palliative care.
We also hosted an number of talks and presentation in our old lecture theatre, focusing on the need for change, how to accomplish it, and where it will take us.
The entire Trust all got involved with pledge walls and pledge stations across the hospital, everybody in this Trusts recognises the part they play in making small changes to achieve big things.
