When dubstep heavyweights land in Montreal, you can almost bank on the fact that Vilify will be right there with them. Putting her name on the docket with the likes of Bassnectar, Rusko, Goldie and Zeds Dead at their respective Montreal performances this year, Vilify, AKA Toronto native Jenny Carmichael, has solidified her position as Montreal's queen of dubstep.
Along with fellow dubstep DJ and ambassador Construct, Jenny runs a wildly popular weekly dubstep party at Belmont, "Bass Drive Wednesdays," that routinely packs the house with legions of ferociously enthusiastic fans.
For our second installment of neontapedeck SESSIONS, we spoke to Vilify about the new explosion of the dubstep scene, her own upward rise and where she sees it all going.
