We stopped by Neato's booth at IFA 2018 to check out the latest in their robot vacuum line up. This year, Neato launched the new Botvac D4 and D6 connected robot vacuum cleaners with new designs and adaptability to the way you live.
The Botvac D4 and D6 look very identical until you turn it over and notice the extra side brush on the D6. They both have that brushed aluminium finish giving a premium look and feel whilst looking stealth in your living space. They come with a charging station and an easy to remove waste bin. On top you'll also notice its radar system for scanning the room its in and it's also where the neato logo is stamped.
The D4 is one of the few robots at this price point to feature lasersmart mapping and navigation technology for cleaning coverage. What i'm most excited about tho, is unlike the other robot vacuum cleaners I've tried before, it has a virtual no -go line feature, something that only existed on Neato's flagship robot before. IT means you can tell the robot where not to go without the need for extra laser mapping gadgets dotted around the house.
The D4 also brings 33% more battery than its predecessor and faster intelligent charging; with quick boost charging, the robot can calculate how much power it needs to finish the job so it can top up its power.
The D6 offers a little more than the D4, it's aimed at those whose cleaning needs might involve pets; its core brush is 70% larger, turbo mode for an increased suction and faster brush rotation so that more dirt and pet hair can be kicked up for suction. It also features a better filter for trapping dust and allergens from your pet. Its side brush is also perfect for close cleaning along the side of the walls in your house. Using the botvac app, you can also create muitiple floor plans with no-go lines .
Overall, without breaking the bank, the D4 and the D6 offer value for money and if you have the D7, you'll also get zone cleaning via an update this fall, allowing you to dictate how each area in the house is cleaned.
