National Show-Museum "Grand Maket Rossiya"

What is «Grand Maket Rossiya»? If I say that the idea of creating the huge model was greeted with fervor on its initial stage, I will significantly exaggerate public interest. Seemingly, such a large-scale project has to be a focus of attention, but in fact I worked it out independently from beginning to end. The natural question is why? Today I would like to analyze the reason of that primary skepticism. Apart from my ambition and desire to prove that I am able to do something on my own, the main reason was my inability to explain intelligibly what "Grand Maket" is. Without answering this question, it`s really impossible to determine one`s attitude to this project. Only now, evaluating the results of hard work, that hundreds of skillful hands performed, we can say with confidence: "Grand Maket" is a work of art, deserving to be placed in the museum! This statement explains a lot. "Grand"Maket" should be taken figuratively, like a theatre performance, film or literary work. And I hope, each visitor will remember the exposition as an artistic image of Russia, not tiny country model. Sincerely, author of project Sergey Morozov
