Last year's popular movie, "Kabaddi" has bagged the best film national award. President Dr Ram Baran Yadav distributed awards to the artists from best movies of 2071 BS in eight different categories at a program organized at the president's official residence at Shital Niwas in the capital. Dayahang Rai, Nischal Basnet and Rishma Gurung have played in the lead role in the movie "Kabaddi", which is based on the love story of boy from Thakali community in Mustang. The movie has been made in different format than of traditional one, and therefore it was highly appreciated by the audience of major cities including the capital. Rambabu Gurung and Upendra Subba bagged the best writer national awards for the movie as well. Dayahang Rai has been titled for the best actor of this year for "Sambodhan" whereas Richa Sharma and Sangam Bista were awarded for "Talakjung Versus Tulke" and "Love You Baba" for the category of the best actresses respectively. Similarly, Nischal Basnet is awarded for the best director for his movie "Talakjung Versus Tulke" whereas "Jhigrana" bagged the best award for editing and screening as well. Shailendradhwoj Karki and Nimesh Shrestha have bagged the best awards for screening and editing for the movie respectively. Likewise, "Matan" has been selected as the best movie under the category based on Indigenous movies. On the occasion, actor and director Neer Shah was honored with Film Dirgha Sadhana Award.
