The following are examples of nasality. These examples come from Master classes conducted by the famous singers. Alfredo Kraus, tenor. Renata Tebaldi, Soprano. Giacomo Aragall, tenor. Nasality is a form of constriction that affects the overall quality of sound. The sound becomes as the name suggests nasal. Nasality constricts and lifts the larynx, generally making the voice sound very thin, bright, and/or shrill. Like all aspects of singing, this problem occurs in various degrees. I have not included masked singing in this example, even though it is technically a form of nasality. I will create another video demonstrating mask singing. Note, Alfredo Kraus is a good example of nasal masked singing.
