The Citizen Hearing on Disclosure will attempt to accomplish what the U. S. Congress has failed to do for forty-five years - seek out the facts surrounding the most important issue of this or any other time. The main ballroom of the National Press Club will be configured to resemble a Senate hearing room. There will be press areas, an audience area, witness tables and committee tables. All will conduct themselves in the same manner appropropriate to a Congressional hearing. To the extent possible the protocols for congressional hearings will be followed. Committee members will receive written statements from witnesses, hear oral statements and ask whatever questions they wish about the subject matter at hand. The Citizen Hearing will last five days from 9 am to 5 pm with two hours of break. There will be five morning and five afternoon sessions, each composed of two panels of witness, each panel lasting approximately 90 minutes. Most panels will center on specific topics. Some panels will cover a range of topics. The Citizen Hearing will be open to the public on a first come, first seated basis. There will be no charge. After each morning and afternoon session the audience will be cleared for those waiting to attend the next session. The rules of decorum for congressional hearings will apply to the Citizen Hearing audience. Space considerations will require that press access be limited to credentialed media.
