Scientists are developing the ability to manipulate unbelievably small matter--thousand of times smaller than a human hair. All kinds of magical things can happen at this level...nano technology could revolutionize manufacturing, and could offer targeted therapies for cancer and other diseases that do not carry the side effects of chemotherapy. But this medical frontier is so new that the ethical and environmental concerns have many people alarmed. Host: Miles O'Brien, science correspondent for Newshour. Participants: Gang Bao, biomedical engineer, Georgia Institute of Technology; David Resnik, bioethicist, National Institutes of Health; Dietram Scheufele, science communication, University of Wisconsin Madison; Mark Somerson, metro editor, The Columbus Dispatch. Organized by Nationwide Children's Hospital and The Ohio State University School of Communication and produced by WOSU Public Media.
