MyPaint on OS Sierra OSX - how to install

1. Install Xcode 1a.Open “App Store” 1b. Search for Xcode 1c. Install and wait to finish the install 2. Activate Xcode and Xcode tools 2a. Open Xcode to finish the install components 2b. Open “Terminal” and enter this command: xcode-select —install 2c. Open again “App Store” and install the update for “Command Line Tools” 3. Install macports 3a. In your favourite web browser search for macports or go directly to https://www.macports.org/install.php 3b. Download the file corresponding to your system version 3c. Install and wait for the install to finish 4. Install XQuartz 4a. Go to https://www.xquartz.org and download the file 4b. Install XQuartz and once is done log out and back in 5. Install MyPaint 5a. Open “Terminal” and type this commands, one at a time to be sure all goes ok: sudo port selfupdate sudo port install mypaint-devel 5b. Once all ports required are installed, you initiate “MyPaint” by invoking it like this: mypaint
