*Update* 11/23/14
Hey guys! So it's been a while since I posted this. For anyone coming to listen to this now, just a warning that this is a fan version that I wrote myself when the book came out, before there ever was a movie. So, don't expect the official version of the song, this is just what I would have liked it to have sounded like when I was 16 and read the book.
Anyway, enjoy it still, i like the new version as well, but this is not that :) thank you!

The Hanging Tree
From Mockingjay, the third book in the Hunger games trilogy
Lyrics by Suzanne Collins
Music by Sarah Clifton
Sung by Sarah Clifton
I was reading Mocking jay, when I read this song and I just had to write something. This little tune came to my mind, and I managed to write an instrumental to it. I've never wrote a song before, and I'm really proud of myself. I sing and play the piano ^.^
edit 1/29/11 - over 10,000? that's amazing, thank you all so much!!!
Lyrics:
Are you, Are you
Coming to the tree
Where they strung up a man
They say murdered three
Strange things did happen here
No Stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight
In the hanging tree
Are you, Are you
Coming to the tree
Where the dead man called out
For his love to flee
Strange things did happen here
No Stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight
In the hanging tree
Are you, Are you
Coming to the tree
Where I told you to run
So we'd both be free
Strange things did happen here
No Stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight
In the hanging tree
Are you, Are you
Coming to the tree
Wear a necklace of rope
Side by side with me
Strange things did happen here
No Stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight
In the hanging tree
