My Lucky Day

Final number from the wonderful movie "Movie Movie" from 1978. A glorious spoof of the typical double-feature movies of yesteryear. This double-feature consists of a black and white 'drama' of a boxer (Harry Hamlin) and George C Scott as his manager Gloves Malloy - and the second movie is a lovely parody of the typcial musical where George C Scott plays millionaire-producer Spats Baxter - and the girl in the chorus gets the lead when the star breaks her ankle. "My Lucky Day" is the final number - and of course Spats Baxter dies on stage with a wonderful line "One moment you're standing in the wings, the next minute - you're wearing them". Michael Kidd did the choreography.
