Netbooks started out as Linux based computers with a purpose of getting on the net fast, and having long battery life. Thanks to market demands, the original netbook's goal has been slashed, and now what we have are baby Windows computers. Hopefully the original netbook's intentions will be resurrected with things like the Chromebook and the upcoming Asus eeePC X101 running MeeGo.
