Muscovy Duck Hatching Eggs

Muskovies are great mamas! I leave the eggs in their nest. Whey will lay one egg a day until they feel that the nest is large enough. Then they will start sitting on their eggs. They get up a few times during the day to eat and swim and then go back to their nest. This girl hatched 17 out of 18 eggs. I checked the egg that did not hatch and there wasn’t a duckling in there. It was just not fertilized. They are very protective mothers and will take great care of their ducklings. We use this breed for both meat and eggs.
