Joe Murphy, Q.C., joined Jim Gordon for the November 18th episode of The Law Show. In this episode they focused their conversation on host liability, specifically when hosting a holiday party. Joe explained a host’s liability (may it be a person, company, or an establishment that serves alcohol) should a guest leave an event impaired and hurt themselves or others. He discusses the risk of liability of both alcohol and cannabis related injuries as a result of an event, and lists steps hosts can take to avoid being found liable should an incident arise.
