MSP430 Launchpad Project: Watchdog Basics

This project demonstrates the usage of the Watchdog module, the TimerA0 module/interrupt (to flash the warning LED), the S2 push-button as well as the input/output (I/O) port interrupts of the M430G2553 chip on the Launchpad. Every 7 seconds the green LED blinks signifying the need to acknowledge the watchdog. The watchdog comes around at 8 seconds so before the watchdog comes and takes action I acknowledge the watchdog with a push-button. If the watchdog is not acknowledged the system hangs and both LEDs turn on. The system clock is an external 32768 Hz crystal. I programmed the M430G2553 chip using C and code composer studio 6. The program includes the watchdog initialization, Timer0 A0 interrupt routines, external crystal initialization, and push-button control.
