Mother Ginger and her Polichinelles in George Balanchine's The Nutcracker®

Who doesn't love Mother Ginger with her giant skirt full of children? The role is traditionally played by a male company dancer, who carries the 60-lb skirt on a custom harness. PNB Soloist, Joshua Grant previously danced with Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, and shares what he learned about getting a laugh.
