Montserrat Monastery near Barcelona

Santa Maria de Montserrat is a Benedictine abbey founded in the 10th century and located on the mountain of Montserrat about 48 km from Barcelona in Spain. This is a really worth trip if you are in Barcelona. Just take FGC train R5 from Plaça Espanya train station in Barcelona to Aeri Montserrat station (if you want to use cable car) or to Monistrol Montserrat station (to take Rack railway Cremallera Funicular). The journey time is about 90 minutes.
