When faced with designing a circular die cut print job for a client, I realized I didn't know how to make paragraph styled text on a curved path in Illustrator. After much searching online, I was unable to find exactly what I needed so I figured it out and have created this tutorial for whomever else might need it.
This is one method you can use in Adobe Illustrator to create a segment of text on a path that can be used in much the same way that a text box can be used. Text on a path threaded to multiple lines will ensure a continuing text wrap on multiple arcs. Do you have a different or better way? Let me know!
In this Adobe Illustrator tutorial, we'll use the arc tool and create threaded text on multiple concentric circle arcs. Learn to create a circle, segment it with the pathfinder tool, and then put arches of text in each of those segments.
Create multiple lines of curved text on a path to mimic a curved text box with threaded text with this hack.
Do you need help with more tutorials? Is there something you'd like to see? Drop me a note in the comments and I'll try to make it happen.
While I'm still working and going to grad school full time, Griffin Street is on a schedule of about 1 tutorial a month, but the more support I can get, the faster I can put up new videos.
