SF Symphony Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas describes how music inspired by Ibsen's classic play Peer Gynt by Edvard Grieg, Alfred Schnittke, and Robin Holloway illuminates the story. On Jan. 17, 18 & 19, the SF Symphony performs music curated by MTT in a unique imagining of Peer Gynt, with soprano Joélle Harvey (Solveig); Ben Huber (Peer Gynt); Rose Portillo (Åase); Peabody Southwell (The Woman in Green); Mark Deakins (Button Moulder/Boyg); Brian Ruppenkamp (Mads Moen, the Troll Courtier, the Brat); and Jesse Merlin (Solveig's Father, the Troll King, the Captain, and the Lean One). These concerts at Davies Symphony Hall will be enhanced by newly created, original, video projections and other theatrical elements. Tickets: http://bit.ly/11nKz76
