Hi~ i'm back with another curry recipe! this time i'm making Japanese style Keema Curry cos i've been wanting to make it for ages and finally bought all of the ingredients to make it. I'm not making the OG Keema Curry because i've been wanting to make the Japanese take on this curry (if you're used to Japanese curry then this is not far from it). I just want to point out even though i make this series of "meal for one" it doesn't mean i'm making one portion of food since if you're living alone or usually cook your own meal for yourself, it's hard to make one portion and sometimes having some food ready in your freezer and fridge is such a lifesaver when you're lazy to cook since you can just reheat it and curry does a good job when it comes to that :) Curry: - 350g ground meat - 3 small carrots, grated (or finely chopped) - 2 med sized onions, diced - 2 cloves of garlic, grated - 1 nob of ginger (20g), grated - 800g canned tomatoes (2 cans) - 100ml red wine (or grape/cranberry juice) - 2-3tsp of curry powder - garam masala to your liking - 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds - 150ml water (to rinse off the canned tomatoes) - sugar (to your liking, it's quite acidic so you can add sugar to balance it out) - a pinch of salt (to season carrot and onion) - 3-4cubes of curry roux - 1 bay leaf - 2 dried chillies *you can always add more spices afterwards Steps: 1. prepare all of the ingredients 2. stir fry onion and carrot w/ a bit of oil 3. add salt when the onion is translucent looking 4. cook until caramelised 5. set aside and cook the meat in a pot/pan until it's no longer pink 6. add a bit of oil and put dried chillies, garlic, ginger and cumin 7. mix with the meat and cook for 1 minute 8. add curry powder and garam masala 9. cook for around 30 seconds then add red wine 10. cook until the wine is almost evaporated 11. add tomatoes and a bit of water to rinse off the cans 12. add cooked carrot and onion 13. add dried bay leaf 14. boil then turn down the heat, add curry roux 15. stir until it fully dissolved and cook until it's thick and not soupy 16. serve with rice, noodle or whatever you like this curry is not spicy at all and i like the subtle cumin flavour in this curry (it's quite tangy but if you can eat sour food then you have no problem with this one) please like and comment if you enjoyed watching this video and let me know if you have requests or advice to make my video quality's better :) instagram post (for this meal) : https://www.instagram.com/p/Bwee4QWFiDo/ instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vionytania/ thank you once again for watching!
