In the midst of the insecurity that is shaking the world, especially in the Middle East, and in front of the persecutions that restrict human freedom, the Maronite Bishop of Haifa and the Holy Land and the Patriarchal Vicar General in Jerusalem and Jordan, Bishop Paul Sayyah, expressed his rejection of all kinds of violations against Christians and all peoples in the Middle East. The Bishop reiterated the importance of the freedom of living in dignity and peace, and called for a conscious reflection on the encounter between one human being and another, to disseminate the culture of peace through communication and dialogue."Certainly, Christians and all the peoples of the region are suffering. We reject all kinds of persecution against every human being because every human being has the right to live freely and to live according his beliefs, and to live in peace. Therefore, and during these Christmas days, we invite everyone to a conscious reflection, in front of this great event, which is the encounter between God and men, and we invite everyone to the encounter between human beings."
