Marines Sling Load M777 Howitzer To Firebase & Fire The Gun

U.S. Marine Corps CH-53E Super Stallion helicopters sling load M-777 Howitzers to a firebase and Marines set up the artillery pieces for live-fire target practice. USMC CH-53E Super Stallions assigned to Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS-1) executed the externally lift of M777 howitzers in support of Assault Support Tactics 1, and Marines with C Battery, 1st Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division set up and fired the 155mm howitzers during Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course (WTI) 1-16 at Firebase Burt, Chocolate Mountain Aerial Gunnery Range in California.
